    Fun & Easy 4th of July Crafts

    Happy 4th of July! Independence Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. My hometown puts on one of the most fabulous fireworks displays ever. Plus, the summer weather this time of year in Michigan is just perfect. We usually head up north to the lake and spend lots of lazy days hanging out on the water. Lots of sun, fun, and memories made!     Patriotic Star Wand Craft

    Patriotic crafts are so fun for summer time. Kids love learning about celebrations and traditions, and what better way to teach them and help them celebrate than creating something together! First, paint the wooden dowel. I used red acrylic paint. Set it aside to dry. Next, use my free printable to cut out your felt stars: Use a different color for each size and cut two of each. Make two stars using the cut-outs. Assemble the stars together largest to smallest, with the smallest star on top.     Gift Wrap Fireworks

    Am I the only one who buys too much new gift wrap only to discover a stash at home that I forgot I had? My gift wrap collection continues to grow with each holiday season. So, when I was looking for something to make fireworks from, gift wrap seemed like the perfect medium. It’s shiny, sparkly, and festive – perfect for fireworks! First, cut strips of gift wrap from the parts you want to use for your fireworks. I used the sparkly parts of the striped red paper I had. Cut strips about 1/4 inch wide and 4-5 inches long.
