    Butterflies are a sure sign that summer is in full swing. We have been seeing so many butterflies outside lately. So, I was inspired to help the kids create a butterfly of their own.     Patriotic Star Wand Craft

    Patriotic crafts are so fun for summer time. Kids love learning about celebrations and traditions, and what better way to teach them and help them celebrate than creating something together! First, paint the wooden dowel. I used red acrylic paint. Set it aside to dry. Next, use my free printable to cut out your felt stars: Use a different color for each size and cut two of each. Make two stars using the cut-outs. Assemble the stars together largest to smallest, with the smallest star on top.     This is one of my favorite projects. It makes a big impact and takes time to complete, but the rainbow design is easy to master. That said, it requires a lost art that kids might need a little help with: writing in cursive. Without cursive, this kind of design doesn’t work.
